If you are in the Tampa Bay area we can find a convenient place to meet for your charter. If you have a Tampa fishing charter or St. Petersburg fishing charter, we typically meet you by the magnificent Sunshine Skyway bridge at the top fishing marina in the bay area; O’Neill’s Marina where the custom built 2016 T Craft 24′ is stored on it’s private boat lift. Due to the versatility of the location, we can also arrange a pick up in downtown St Petersburg at Demens Landing Park, in Tampa at the Hula Bay Club, on the south shore of the bay in Apollo Beach, or across the bridge in Bradenton. If you have a Clearwater Fishing Charter then we are quick and easy access off of US 19 or 275.

Tampa Bay’s Snook and Redfish bite has been has hot! Inside the bay snook are bunching back up for the spawn, and the redfish are schooled up as well make for some fun fishing. Snook have been averaging anywhere from 20”-30” with a few large biting as well. Redfish have been top of the slot size 27” or even as large as 36” and we are catching them in shallow water 2′ or less. Live bait and Cut bait have both been working well. Trout fishing has also be outstanding, and getting a few for a fresh fish dinner hasn’t been a problem.

So, prepare yourself for the Tampa Fishing expedition of a lifetime! Using cutting-edge technology, a top-of-the-line fishing boat along with decades of experience and knowledge you’ll get the opportunity to experience fishing adventures and memories lasting a lifetime.

We had a great opening of snook season with over 50 Snook caught with 4 of them in mid slot. The best thing about today was there are 4 slot snook still swimming around because my client didn’t want to kill them. …

One of the area’s true salts, Hawkins taught me an important tactical point: Fishing a bridge doesn’t necessarily mean hugging the structure. There are times when pompano and other species will feed close to the structure, but consider that the eddies spun by flowing tides can create feeding scenarios 100 yards from the pilings.

Anchor uptide of a bridge and hang a chum block off your stern to amass enticing bait schools and provide predators a scent trail to follow. Snapper will rise from the pilings, mackerel swarm the area and you’ll probably raise a few cobia and sharks. Supplementing a chumline with freshly cut threadfin herring chunks can jumpstart a good bite.

For a natural chum job, scrape the pilings to crush and release barnacles or mussels. The scent stimulates sheepshead, drum, redfish and pompano—all likely recipients of cut shrimp dropped into the scent zone on 1⁄4-ounce jigheads. (Light hooks and splitshots also work, but jigheads effect a more streamlined presentation that drops quicker in current without spooking fish.)

Kenny is a born and raised Tampa native. He started as a child fishing bass ponds with his father, quickly picked up quite the technique for it and his love for fishing grew. As he got older he picked up inshore fishing. It wasn’t as easy as the old ponds in the neighborhood, but he learned quickly, researching info, techniques and learning Tampa Bay’s estuary. From North to South of the Bay, he knows where to go to put you on fish.

Later in the coming month, tides heights will start to improve.  This, coupled with warming waters, will improve local redfishing.  With fish still wanting to get warmer, look for them around oyster bars on the higher tides as well as up on the flats in areas with potholes during the warmer parts of the day.  Until cold leaves for good, generally around the middle of March, redfish will respond best to crustaceans such as shrimp.  When the warm settles in, they’ll eat just about anything.

If you have never tried snook fishing, now’s your chance. FWC restrictions on snook fishing season in Florida for 2017 have been lifted, so it’s the perfect time to schedule a trip to go snook fishing in Tampa Bay. Through May 1st, 2017, the season is open: make some new memories while casting your line at some snook. After that, your next shot will be in late fall – so get out there ASAP!

True to its name, inshore fishing is done within a few miles of the shoreline in relatively shallow water. Mackerel, trout and Snook are some of the most common fish caught during inshore fishing expeditions. Thanks to its many bays and estuaries, the Tampa Bay area makes for naturally rich and interesting inshore fishing.

Clearwater Beach has had a good Redfish bite, along with a good number of trout and some nice sharks. Redfish have been biting best on the early morning high tides for us and for anglers looking to target these fish we haven’t been have any issues finding them! Trout fishing has also been really good fishing over deep grass flats near the passes. And the sharks have been biting good on fresh dead bait while we have been catching other fish.
