i dont travel far without. Ratltrap handy. Not only are they a blast to catch fish on the dual trebles really seem to hold up well against jack crevalle on the texas coast which break off my spook trebles everytime unless i refit them with some heavy stuff used for offshire jigs at the rigs.
“Went fishing with Jason 3 times now. All 3 trips have been excellent. Caught a lot of fish and had a great time. Already looking forward to next spring for fishing trip with Jason. I would recommend Steady Action Fishing with Captain Jason Prieto if you want to catch fish and have a full day of action!”

Inshore fishing this week in the Clearwater beach area has been Great, and the weather has been outstanding. In the last couple of fishing trips this week we have caught trout, redfish, snook, and big bluefish. Fishing should remain good over the next few weeks with similar conditions but I expect the triple tail to show up in the coming weeks. Give me a call if you would like to get a trip set up. – Capt.Jared (727)831-0111 www.CaptJared.com

This is a seasonal favorite as every summer these silver kings migrate through the area. The peak of this season is generally from May to July, but each year presents a different set of circumstances that can change when the Tarpon arrive and how long they stay. Always check with the Captain for current conditions and dates.
I have been fishing with Capt Steve for several years. I am usually in the Tampa area 5-7 times per year and try to sneak in a trip with Capt Steve. We went out today during a very cold day. Capt Steve put us on…More
A 1⁄4-ounce jig set through the tail of a live shrimp and hopped across the bottom will turn up a diverse selection of bridge residents including redfish, flounder, cobia, sheepshead, black drum, gag grouper, mangrove snapper and juvenile tarpon. Probably the most popular jigging target in local waters is the pompano. Species-specific jigs such as Doc’s Goofy style or small, round-head bucktails tempt the golden nuggets.
To get the most out of Snook fishing in Tampa Bay, you’ll want to target the beaches, residential docks and mangrove shorelines. Stocking the livewell with pilchards or scaled sardines (their favorite) is always a good choice. If you prefer artificials, plugs and jigs typically do the job just as well.
St.Pete Beach has also been providing similar action to Clearwater beach, and the Redfish have been providing consistent action for charter trips we have done lately. St. Pete is a great area to fish out of because of the action at the mouth of the bay which means every fish that goes in and out of the bay have to pass St.Pete beach going between Egmount Key and Ft.Desoto Park, if you would like to fish any of these areas specifically just let me know.
Stretching out at around 400 square miles, Tampa Bay is the largest open water estuary system in the state of Florida. It is also considered one of the world’s most productive natural ecosystems. This is due to the fact that this type of estuary is one where saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico and freshwater feeds from all along the coast mix. It is here where several species of gamefish, baitfish, and crustaceans spend their critical stages of development protected from larger open water predators.
Locate the parks, agencies, and municipalities that manage facilities with access to the water. Rules and fees that apply to facilities differ widely, so make sure you check with the appropriate authority before you travel. Also, check the Artificial Reefs webpage to identify where New York’s artificial fishing and diving reefs are located.
