If you are in the Tampa Bay area we can find a convenient place to meet for your charter. If you have a Tampa fishing charter or St. Petersburg fishing charter, we typically meet you by the magnificent Sunshine Skyway bridge at the top fishing marina in the bay area; O’Neill’s Marina where the custom built 2016 T Craft 24′ is stored on it’s private boat lift. Due to the versatility of the location, we can also arrange a pick up in downtown St Petersburg at Demens Landing Park, in Tampa at the Hula Bay Club, on the south shore of the bay in Apollo Beach, or across the bridge in Bradenton. If you have a Clearwater Fishing Charter then we are quick and easy access off of US 19 or 275.

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned angler, as one of Florida’s premier guides Captain Woody’s knowledge, skill and expertise will provide you with the opportunity of a lifetime. My guide service gives anglers the chance to experience some of the most spectacular and exciting world class fishing anywhere in the world and if you are traveling a long distance, you might want to schedule more than one-day.

The weather is perfect right now and the fishing is just about there as well. Bait fish like scaled sardines and threadfin hearing are all over our beaches and the fish are gorging themselves on them. My charters are getting there fill of Spanish Mackerel and the Kings are starting to show as well. I […]

For a natural chum job, scrape the pilings to crush and release barnacles or mussels. The scent stimulates sheepshead, drum, redfish and pompano—all likely recipients of cut shrimp dropped into the scent zone on 1⁄4-ounce jigheads. (Light hooks and splitshots also work, but jigheads effect a more streamlined presentation that drops quicker in current without spooking fish.)

The Gulf of Mexico waters Tampa-side are home to some of the finest year-round fishing in the south. Hardly any angler could resist fishing in Tampa! The sugar sand beaches line countless miles of waterways, passes, open bays, acres of shallow grass flats, thousands of oyster bars, and dozens of rivers feeding into it. You instantly understand why Tampa fishing charters are so popular. This enormous natural estuary is one of the “Fishing capitals of the world”. But what makes fishing in so exciting?

5 Around the Sunshine Skyway and lower Tampa Bay, sheepshead are all over the Skyway Bridge area and the approach bridges. Flounder are pretty solid in the South Skyway area. Spanish mackerel have started to show up at the north and south piers. “The tripletail have moved in thick. Look for them on all the crab pots and markers all the way into the bay,” reports Capt. Shawn Crawford of Florida Sport Fishing Outfitters of Bradenton (941-705- 3160).

Pocket Change Inshore Fishing Charters include everything you need, from a fishing license to quality tackle. Depending on the species, you can keep your catch and Capt. Anthony will clean and fillet it for you.

New York State recreational anglers can now report their catch in a voluntary online angler logbook, called eLogbook. Anglers can document their fishing activities, compile their fishing data and plan more effective fishing trips. If you wish to use this online logbook, please register and log on online at the ACCSP web site. Check our ACCSP and Electronic Reporting web page for more information.

Depending upon the type of saltwater fish that you are targeting, the most effective baits are usually the ones that most closely match the normal diet of that species. This might be anything from clams, mussels and sea worms to shrimp, squid and appropriately sized baitfish. Many fish will also strike chunk and strip baits, which tend to exude enticing oils through the water column.

Today my girlfriend and I went on a fishing trip with Captain Anthony and Joey, it was a gift for her birthday. Both were great guys and gave us a true quality experience. It was a new experience for …both of us. My girlfriend reeled in 2 sharks and a pufferfish. I caught 2 mackerel and a cobia. The cobia was actually Captain Anthony’s line but he gave it to me when it hooked so I could bring him in. Then they even filleted and bagged the fish for us to take home. We took them to a restaurant to eat fresh. Perfect day thanks to Pocket Change Inshore Fishing Charters See More

  1. On the Space Coast, black drum have been caught in both the Haulover Canal and the northern end of the Banana River. Fresh cut mullet, ladyfish, and live shrimp on a jig head are getting the best bite. Anglers will want to cast the bait in front of the fish or rest the bait on the bottom along channel drop-offs. These black drum have been averaging 15 inches with the largest fish measuring 23 inches, reports Capt. Keith Mixon of Mixin’ Work With Play Fishing Charters. (321-212-8484).

Tarpon Fishing in Tampa Bay is outstanding during the annual tarpon Migration.  If you’re planning a Tarpon Charter in Boca Grande FL, we seriously want you to consider Tampa / St. Pete beach. Our region is just as productive for Giant Tarpon Fishing as Boca Grande Pass but minus the ridiculous crowds and Tampa Bay has a lot more to offer if your planning a trip!
Extending over 400 square miles and fed by the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the entire bay and its tributaries act as a reliably diverse game fish nursery. This alone is already a feat in and of itself. As any seasoned angler will attest, most top-tier fisheries struggle with maintaining the variety of its celebrated fish stock. Tampa Bay’s massive ecosystem, on the other hand, plays host to pretty much all of the state’s favorite bruisers. When locals say there’s something in these waters for everyone, you better be sure they mean it.
“In addition to being a huge conservation tool that limits the chances of hooking a fish deeply, inline circle hooks actually catch more fish. When set properly, it’s difficult for a fish to shake it — and that provides great peace of mind when that tarpon, big snook or sailfish takes to the air.”
