Dos Hombres – John’s Pass Fishing Charters, in Madeira Beach, is a Tampa Metro area fishing charter service. The boat is 30 feet long and 12 feet wide, made in 2000 by Island Hopper. It cruises at 23 knots and includes spacious seating, under a large canvas top that protects passengers from the sun. Captain Anthony and his team win high praise from past clients for their friendly attitudes and their familiarity with the best fishing spots.

Even if there is a good reason why Snook and Redfish make it to the top of your angler’s list, you simply cannot miss the opportunity to catch Trout, one of the tastiest fish. Those shallow flats inhabitants are easy to catch and make great table fare, just like Sheepshead and the bottom-hugging flatfish Flounder. Flounder can be found relatively close to the shore, hiding in the sand of moving waters around passes and inlets. Off the shore, you can find them near reefs and shipwrecks. Nibblers Sheepshead also hang out there. You can always count on Sheepshead bite during the winter!

Fishing is the most popular recreational pastime in America; it boasts more active enthusiasts than golf, tennis and sailing combined. Saltwater fishing alone draws in nearly 25 million participants nationwide in a single year. Whether it be trolling offshore for big tuna, drifting across a placid bay for flounder or fishing the skinny water of the intertidal flats for redfish and trout, the plurality of venues and fish species available to saltwater anglers can seem virtually endless.

Clearwater Beach fishing has been good just before I left I was catching good numbers of redfish and trout. When I got back mid month we got right back to it with Redfish, Trout, mackerel, jacks, and many more species fishing the deep grass flats just inside Clearwater harbor and up around St. Joesph sound in Dunedin. Live sardine have been key to our success and they have been abundant, but small. We have even done a couple fly fishing trips lately, and we had no issues catching plenty of fish on the fly! If you want to do a fly trip just let me know.

  1. Thanks for stopping by PC Florida Fishing! When you’re ready to get out on the water and catch some of our local fish, call Capt. Sean at (229) 296-9975 to set up a fishing trip you won’t soon forget!
Tampa Bay has had a great Snapper and Snook bite with a few mackerel and sharks being caught as well. Snapper fishing around the bay bridges and public reefs around near Down town St.Pete or off Macdill air force base have been providing plenty of snapper over the 10” keeper size limit, and for there size these fish pull hard! Snook fishing in the bay has been decent, but not crazy good. Most of the fish have been in the mid 20” range. For the anglers wanting sharks there have been a good number of sharks patrolling the bait schools throughout the bay.
Watch Your Leader – If you’re using a leader then it’s important to keep an eye on the knot area of where your line is tied to your leader. This area and about a foot or two above it tends to get damaged pretty quickly, especially if you’re surf fishing. You’ll want to cut off any bad or frayed areas and retie your leader. Don’t lose a big monster catch because you were too lazy to check your leader knot. And also make sure to use a quality leader, we recommend the Seaguar Blue Label Fluorocarbon Leader.
