I started the month off on vacation fishing in Venice, Louisiana catching Bull Redfish in the 40” range. These fish are hard pulling and don’t give up. Every year I like to make a fishing trip to Louisiana as they have some amazing fishing there. This year has been the toughest year yet, but I was still able to catch some of the big bulls they have!

Bottom fishermen are likely to have their hands full as well. These waters are home to the likes of Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack, Flounder, Goliath Grouper and plenty of other rock dwellers.

Captain Andy and Captain Ollie were fantastic! We were so excited to experience deep sea fishing and they helped make the experience worth while. We caught several difference fish including a handful of sharks! They were knowledgeable of the water and where the best spots to catch fish were. Our family day trip for 5 was an amazing adventure and a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend anyone who lives in the area or is visiting Florida make time for these guys! They do an incredible job and you are guaranteed to catch some fish. At the end of the trip Captain Ollie cleaned our fish for us and we were able to eat our catch(es) of the day at Ricky’s. The experience one to remember! Thank you to both guys for a successful day on the water!M MJ Boyce

Clearwater Beach fishing has been good just before I left I was catching good numbers of redfish and trout. When I got back mid month we got right back to it with Redfish, Trout, Snook, mackerel, jacks, and many more species fishing the deep grass flats just inside Clearwater harbor and up around St. Joesph sound in Dunedin. Live sardine have been key to our success and they have been abundant, but small. We have even done a couple fly fishing trips lately, and we had no issues catching plenty of fish on the fly! If you want to do a fly trip just let me know.

Could I also be so bold as to suggest a new heading to the Saltstrong Webpage, namely one specifically where people could make recommendations specific to kayak/wade fishing. Some suggestions for sub headings would be;
