We have expectations of only catching a few fish. They where exceeded ten fold. We started small with shephead to make sure we got some fish. Then we stepped it up from species to species and did amazing on all. Steve is a great guy…More

Tampa Bay during the spring time will still see those tailing Red’s in the flats, but with the addition of big Red’s throw in the mix. Catching Snook becomes more common, and Seatrout will still be lurking actively in the grass flats. Also, Cobia will begin to appear during the migration.

Booked a 7a-11a trip with Captain Anthony. We arrived at 6:40 and he had his boat in the water and was all set to go. Anthony is very friendly and easy to talk to. He put us over a reef where we caught silver trout and some sea bass. He then took us to some vacant docks where we caught sea trout, pinfish, ladyfish, and multiple sheepshead. Fun trip, will hope to book another trip in the future.
Perhaps one of the most underrated Bay fish, Black Drum are incredibly fun to catch. Also, as they can be anything from a few pounds to 90lb+ monsters, you never know what you may find on the other end of the line. Typically in larger concentrations throughout the winter months, they’re a sucker for shrimp and gather around docks and in shallow waters.
Capt. Matt always delivers. Regardless of the season, He knows where the fish are and can get there in his very comfortable shallow running Andros 26′ boat. He provides his anglers with top notch fishing gear and a great history of his home waters, Tampa Bay. If you want to have a fantastic fishing trip in Tampa Bay, I highly recommend a charter with Capt. Matt!-Corey Maysles
