St.Pete Beach we had a few good trips targeting Snapper and Sharks near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Snapper fishing during the summer months provides consistent action and plenty of table fair to take home for a fresh fish dinner! Sharks have been thick and aggressive. Most of the sharks we are targeting are in the 2′-5′ range.
Although readily available year round, spring thru fall gives anglers the best chance to limit out on Snook. Their metabolism tends to slow down significantly during the cooler months. While they’ll still blast your plug every now and again, winter is typically better spent pursuing other species (see above!)
Tampa Bay fishing charters have been catching lots of Snook, a few reds, and limits of trout. The bay fishing is about to get really good as soon as the first cold fronts hit and the fish push into the bay, and for the anglers that will be here for this we will have 50-100 fish days fishing for snook and reds.

Vincent, Great question. I did do one charter where I had two customers that wanted to split a charter. I went ahead and made the arrangements for them to fish together with me. Unfortunately for them personality’s clashed them. It made for a uncomfortable trip for both of them and me. Since that incident I do not any longer mix charters. If you would like to call me maybe I could work something out to accommodate you doing a charter with me or possibly another captain in my net work. Thank you, Capt. Steve 813-727-8843 P.S. I apologize for the delay in response. I just noticed I had the notification for a question this morning.
My fishing grounds are from the beautiful waters of Tarpon Springs, then progressing south to Clearwater Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Shores, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg and the entire south shore of Tampa Bay and everything in between.
“I have been fishing with Jason for a number of years and have been on multiple trips! We have never been disappointed with his ability to put us on fish!! Even got my son on the cover of a magazine with his prized snook. Can’t say enough great things about Capt. Jason! ”
With a second set of controls up in the tower, sight fishing ability is greatly enhanced. The net effect is more time spent fishing where the fish are. The tower also increases the chances at getting a good cast at a roving Cobia, Shark or Tarpon that otherwise might not be seen.
June’s fishing report for the Tampa bay, Clearwater Beach, St.Pete Beach area has been hot with action just like the weather! Summer is here and the warmer weather not only brings people to the beach, but it also brings the fish! Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Trout, Mackerel, Snapper, and Sharks have all been around.
