Great list – my only addition would be a yellow bucktail to go along with the white. Don’t know why, but I’ve found that sometimes when the white seems ineffective, the yellow just flat-out kills ’em – spotted weakfish (trout), snook, reds, etc. Used to tie my own, but they aren’t any better than store-bought and probably no cheaper!
Captain Anthony took us right where the fish were biting! Snook where constantly biting, and Captain Anthony was super helpful and knowledgeable about inshore fishing in the area. Would recommend to a…nyone looking for a great inshore fish charter and experience! See More

The marine waters of New York host varied and exciting fishing opportunities for recreational anglers. Long Island is ideally situated so that both southern and northern fish species frequent our waters. You can fish for Atlantic cod, winter flounder and mackerel in the spring, or try your luck for bluefish, summer flounder and Spanish mackerel when school is out.
To get the most out of Snook fishing in Tampa Bay, you’ll want to target the beaches, residential docks and mangrove shorelines. Stocking the livewell with pilchards or scaled sardines (their favorite) is always a good choice. If you prefer artificials, plugs and jigs typically do the job just as well.
Trout Picking Up. Redfish returning. – Quite quickly, temperatures went from unseasonably cold to unseasonably warm. In just a few short weeks, inshore water temps have moved almost 15 degrees and are currently closing in on the 70 degree mark. Logic would say that fishing must be impro more…

These inshore waters are home to many large, hard fighting game fish! You can try fishing for a West Coast “Grand Slam” of Snook, Trout, and Redfish in one day. Saltwater fishing is a broad term used to describe the method of fishing in the ocean. Saltwater fishing can be done on shore (surf fishing), on a boat or on a pier. Live bait and artificial bait are used by saltwater anglers, which varies based on the type of fish the angler is trying to catch. Saltwater fishing is only available in states/countries that border an ocean or have an inlet river with a high level of salinity. Some of the greatest fighting fish are saltwater fish, such as the tuna or marlin. Saltwater fishing provides some of the best fishing experiences an angler can ever have.
If you are a boater, fisherman, diver, either recreational or commercial or if you care about our energy resources and other natural resources that are available in or from the oceans then you should be VERY concerned over this ‘National Ocean Policy”.

Tampa Bay is one of the state’s largest natural harbors which houses a plethora of gamefish who call this place home. Tampa Bay is also the largest natural open-water estuary. What this means for you is nonstop year round fishing action!
Yes sir, you missed one for sure, never leave without at least one Bill Lewis RAT-L-TRAP. I find the gold chrome with a black back or silver chrome with a blue back catches a ton of fish. 1/2 or 5/8 ounce size is about right..
The big boy of the bunch, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge spans the mouth of Tampa Bay and links Pinellas to Manatee County. The original Skyway was demolished years ago after a phosphate barge hit one of the main span pilings during a squall. The north and southbound approach lanes were capped and converted into state park fishing piers.
I took a quick glance at my website to make sure everything was working and up to date and noticed I hadn’t posted in quite a while, and then looked at how many trips I have run this calendar year … Continue reading →
“In addition to being a huge conservation tool that limits the chances of hooking a fish deeply, inline circle hooks actually catch more fish. When set properly, it’s difficult for a fish to shake it — and that provides great peace of mind when that tarpon, big snook or sailfish takes to the air.”
Each year, the bait-rich waterways of the Gulf attract a wide roster of pelagics and other predatory fish. Surface feeders such as Kingfish, Barracuda, Permit and Dorado all prosper throughout the summer months. Although live bait is preferred, these drag-stripping machines will rarely resist a fine-looking ‘topwater’ either.
